The
world around us is shaped by our thoughts and beliefs. Storytelling
is a simple yet powerful way of stimulating the imagination,
creating positive pathways in the mind and deepening our understanding
of the nature of life. Our stories also give insight into
human nature and are lots of fun. All storytelling sessions
can be booked with a workshop.
Some
examples of stories that we tell
The
Paper Garden – a tale about an Emperor from the
East who lives on an island in a palace surrounded by the
most beautiful garden where the rarest flower in the world
grows.
Toadstone
– an ancient haunting tale about toads, greedy
princes and white witches.
The
Pumpkin Who Thought He Was a Maharaja – on the
edge of a compost-heap grows a great pumpkin who believes
that he is an Indian maharaja who is dreaming of being a pumpkin.
Frog
Belly Rat Bone – A modern story about the simple
treasures of life.
A
Star in the Heart – a story specially created by
Purple Broccoli Theatre for Apple day celebrations. This is
the tale how Mervyn goes on a journey to find his fortune,
and how and where and what adventures he has along the way.
The
Green Ladies of One Tree Hill -
a traditional English folktale. Three brothers, each of them
a farmer, with very different attitudes to the natural forces
on which their livelihoods depend.
Tortoises
Dream - In Nigeria they say a story is not a story unless
it has a tortoise in it, so this is an African folktale about
a tortoise who longs to find the tree of her dreams, a tree
that produces every imaginable fruit and even some grains.
The
People who Hugged the Trees - adapted from a true story
of how a community in India protected the precious trees that
made their lives on the edge of a desert, possible.
